Oswego Creative Selects Winners of Community Care Charity Video Project

Back when we launched the Community Care Video Project in December, we really had no idea how it was going to be received. Our hope was to find a Colorado charitable non-profit organization we could support with the production of a video to help share their message, increase volunteerism and generate additional financial support. But honestly, we weren’t even sure we would receive any nominees. We couldn’t have been more wrong – because the response to the Community Care Video Project was beyond our wildest expectations.

We received nominations for more than 40 truly outstanding and deserving Colorado charities. These non-profit organizations came from all across Colorado and represented a wide array of charitable causes. While reviewing each entry, we evaluated each candidate based on their mission, their need and how an online video could impact their efforts. We could easily make a case that each submission was worthy of being selected. Selecting just one proved to be an impossible task. In the end, we couldn’t narrow the choice down to just one winner, so we selected three.

The three Colorado charities that Oswego Creative will produce a two- to three-minute video for are:

The Action Center

The Action Center is a human-service non-profit organization offering the single-most comprehensive range of services to struggling residents of Jefferson County and the homeless. The Action Center meets the immediate needs of their clients, treating them with respect and dignity. The Action Center provides the resources needed to develop pathways to self-sufficiency, breaking the cycle of poverty. To learn more, visit The Action Center’s website or their Facebook page.

Ekar Farm

Ekar Farm is an urban organic farm committed to eliminating hunger and malnutrition. From the platform of their 2-acre farm Ekar Farm educates and engages the community in building a local, healthy and fair food system. In their 5 seasons of farming, Ekar Farm have hosted over 5,000 volunteers and donated over 40,000 pounds of community-grown, organic vegetables to help feed close to 4,500 people in need. To learn more, visit the Ekar Farm’s website or their Facebook page.

San Luis Valley Animal Welfare Society

The San Luis Valley Animal Welfare Society is located in one of the poorest regions of Colorado. It was founded and is run by Frank & Aileen Peek who have used their own money to shoulder the efforts of rescuing animals in need. Operating on very low outside donations and facing virtually no placement opportunities, they have carefully screened and found homes for more than 8,000 animals, who otherwise would have had no chance for help from neglect, starvation, life on the street, medical care, or love. To learn more, visit the San Luis Valley Animal Welfare Society’s website or their Facebook page.

We’re looking forward to the opportunity to share the stories and contributions of these three very compelling and diverse charity organizations.

If you submitted an entry and weren’t selected or you are just finding out about the Community Care Charity Video Project, this won’t be your last chance to possibly receive a video from Oswego Creative. We will be running this project again later in the year. Be sure to bookmark the Community Care Video Project page and subscribe to the Oswego Creative eNewsletter for updates.
