Media Buys for the NFL Season


A lot goes into when and where ads appear. Media buying is highly competitive and requires continual monitoring of the market. This process is balanced against a client’s budget and objectives. In 2013, Oswego Creative help develop a national TV advertising strategy for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). The IBEW was looking for way to share their message with a broader audience. Their objective was not to only better explain who the IBEW is, but to also show the members of the union beyond the job site.

It shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone that the NFL is the biggest TV draw today. Oswego Creative proposed a media campaign to the IBEW that started in the fall of 2013. The campaign was built around the NFL coverage on Fox and CBS. Due to the size and breakdown of the NFL audience, the effectiveness of this campaign required the IBEW to make a significant financial commitment. That is why the IBEW entrusted Oswego Creative to handle this media buy. We understand how to get the message in front of a target audience and we understand budget constraints. Based on last season’s success, Oswego Creative will once again be handling the IBEW media buy for the 2014 NFL season. As the NFL preseason is coming to a close and the teams are getting ready for the season, so are our media buying efforts with the national networks. We are in the midst of building the most effective campaign for the IBEW in 2014. Our efforts won’t end with the start of the NFL season, because we continually monitor and adjust the campaign to get the best results for the IBEW.
